Active in state and national education law organizations, Mr. Haglund has served as chair of the Texas Association of School Boards Council of School Attorneys; Chair of the State Bar of Texas School Law Section, and as a founding director and past president of the Texas Association of Community College Counsel. Mr. Haglund is a member of the National School Board Association Council of School Attorneys. In 2019 the State Bar of Texas School Law Section presented Mr. Haglund with the Kelly Frels Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed by the School Law Section.
Mr. Haglund has served as a member of the Board of Directors and as the elected President of the Education Law Association, a national member organization of education lawyers, University Administrators, professors and K-12 administrators, based in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2023, the Education Law Association presented Mr. Haglund with the M.A. McGhehey Award for distinguished service to the field of education law.
Mr. Haglund is a sustaining Life Member of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.
